Baw Baw launches Australia’s first Big AirBag
Mt Baw Baw launched Australia’s first Big AirBag over the weekend.The Big AirBag is the most exciting and talked about addition to the Australian slopes in 2009.Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort CEO Leona Turra said she was committed to freestylers, providing them with the opportunity to perfect techniques, spins and flips.“The Big AirBag is sure to get beginners and more advanced jumpers adrenaline pumping.“The bag is the ultimate way to practise jumps without getting hurt.“It is also ideal for setting the basis for skiers and boarders to get the most out of our terrain park which is bigger and better in 2009,†Ms Turra said.Channel [V]’s Danny Clayton, who was runner up in the 2009 CLEO Bachelor of the Year, today made the first official jump to open the Big AirBag.Danny is an avid snowboarder and definitely put on a show with the first Big Jump.The Big AirBag is set up in front of a ski-jump and acts as a giant fall cushion so jumpers can practise their stunts without the bumps and bruises. It is an ideal training method for all jumpers helping to perfect snowboard and skiing skills.The launch pad is two metres high, three and a half metres wide with the bag 15 metres long, nine metres wide and two metres high.
