The Flow Big Air Comp at Baw Baw was a huge success, and attracted riders from all over the country and even from overseas! Mt Baw Baw has had 30cms of fresh snow since Monday, so the event ran in ideal conditions.
The event was sponsored by Flow, Cactus Black and RPS The Board Store. There was plenty of fresh snow and some MASSIVE tricks.
Flow Snowboarding provided US sponsored riders Jeremy Thompson and Ian Thorley as judges and International Team Manager Andrew Mutty who kept the crowd entertained on the mic all day.
Congratulations to the following prize winners!
Winner- Anthony Badagoff
2nd Prize- Brent Dowling
3rd Prize- Josh Haywood

Cactus Black Best Trick- Anthony Badagoff
Best Female- Jade McJannett

Well done to all, and we look forward to next year’s Big Air!
Well the Battle is over for another year, as expected the guys from Baw Baw and Forum put on a great event that was enjoyed by riders and everyone there to have a look. Making it 2 years in a row Robbie Walker took first with Andrew Roth grabbing 2nd and Mitch Williams taking home 3rd. Special mention to Matt Galina who got the Skull CandyBest Trick award, well done to the crew from Baw Baw, Have a look at this edit from the guys at Third Chapter
http://www.vimeo.com/13612065Yer Yer we know, it’s like Thursday and we haven’t posted any Battle at Baw Baw updates yet………sorry about that but we have been like super busy (ride everything day yesterday) and have been waiting for our friends at TSC to edit this clip, and we must say I think they have done a super fine job too. Check out these young guns ripping Australia’s finest stair rail
Must say, the quality of the young riders this year was a highlight of the event. Yes Robbie was there and yes Mitch and Alex SMOOOOTHED the rails all arvo and yes Ben ALMOST landed that forward flip on the down, BUT I must admit to see those juniors hit that feature without any hesitation was an inspiration to us older mature not quite so young guns. A special thanks to TSC for the clip too, is rad………… (more…)
2009 is shaping up to be the biggest season on record, which you may say is a big call considering up until a day or so ago we didn’t have a whole lot on the ground, but anyway thats in the past, IT’S GONNA BE BIG!!! Speaking of BIG, the annual Battle at Baw Baw is on again and this year really does promise to be a great event. Our mates at Forum tell us the interst for this event is massive this year, which does not supprise us at all given the great press we have received in the past and the feed back from some of Australia’s best riders. OH YER, keep an eye out for a NEW FEATURE this year………………….cant say much, but do suggest you get up and take a look.
Â
Mt Baw Baw Management put out the invitation to retailers to come and check out the mountain, have lunch & learn about the exciting changes for 2009. The day was to get the ‘influencers’ well informed about the exciting changes that Baw Baw has made to make the mountain more dimensional, with the inclusions of the new freestyle features placed around the mountain and Australia’s 1st Big AirBag Â
45 crew that came up from various stores and were surprised by what they discovered (despite there being little snow!). The afternoon Big AirBag session was a HUGE hit with loads of crew having a go and getting addicted to the adrenaline rush of being able to launch themselves into the air without fear of hurting themselves upon landing! The tunes were pumping and Ralph from Forum was like a big Kid running to top of the in-run so he could have another go!!!
Thanks to stores that were so supportive by taking the time to come up and see what the mountain has to offer - sending staff from many of their stores:
Burton, Forum, SHQ, Helly Hensen, GreenRoom, Anaconda, Islantis, Ski & Board World, Deja Vu, Cactus Black, Rider +, Trigger Bros.
A massive THANKS go to the crew from Baw Baw for putting on a great display of what this little mountain has to offer, with the little amount of snow you can still have heaps of fun at Baw Baw
